Recently, the Market Supervision Administration of Dongfang City has been informed by the public that there are external mobile vendors at Dongfang Matou Seafood Market using "ghost scales" to cheat on weight, deceive prices, falsely mark prices, obscure pricing, add additional charges, switch products, and replace dead seafood with fresh seafood, which infringes on the rights of consumers. The Market Supervision Administration of Dongfang City immediately organized law enforcement officers to investigate and contacted the video uploader to understand the specific situation, characteristics of the vendors involved, and the time and location of the incidents, and arranged for joint law enforcement inspections with the Municipal Comprehensive Administration Law Enforcement Bureau on the morning of February 21 at Dongfang Matou Seafood Market and surrounding areas during the Spring Festival. The focus of the inspection was to check if the weighing instruments were accurate, if there were cheating functions, if there were price deceptions, unclear pricing, overpriced items, and if there were illegal activities such as switching products or selling inferior goods. At the same time, the Market Supervision Administration of Dongfang City will take this opportunity to initiate a special crackdown on the operation order of seafood markets, learning from the issues raised online.
