Hainan's outlying islands duty-free holiday raked in nearly 1.4 billion in the five days before the holiday.

According to statistics from Haikou Customs, from February 15th to 19th, the amount and number of duty-free shopping on Hainan's outlying islands were 1.38 billion yuan and 177,000 people, an increase of 19% and 24.6% respectively compared to the first five days of the Spring Festival holiday last year.
