According to measurements by the German Research Centre for Geosciences, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred at 5:39 pm local time in the Hindu Kush region of northern Afghanistan today. The earthquake had a depth of approximately 79 kilometers. Reports indicate that the capital of Afghanistan, Kabul, felt strong tremors.
