E-commerce giant Amazon has officially replaced retail giant Walmart as the company with the highest annual revenue in the world. According to Walmart's financial performance report released on February 19 local time, the company achieved sales of $713.2 billion in the 12 months ending January 31, 2026. Amazon, on the other hand, previously revealed that its annual sales for 2025 were $717 billion, surpassing Walmart by $3.8 billion. Previously, Walmart had been the global revenue champion for 13 consecutive years thanks to its widespread network of physical stores and low-price strategy. In the past 20 years, Walmart's revenue has more than doubled. The company is also continuing to drive online business growth, with its US e-commerce business growing by 27% year-on-year in the latest fiscal quarter and maintaining double-digit growth for 15 consecutive quarters.
