South Korea's Samyang Food Co. will register an English trademark for "buldak ramen."

South Korean company Samyang Food, famous for its production of "Buldak" spicy noodles, announced on Thursday that in order to combat the increasing number of counterfeit products overseas, they plan to register an English trademark for their "Buldak" brand. The company stated that they will submit an application to the Korean Intellectual Property Office later this month to obtain the trademark rights for the English name "Buldak." The company is concerned that the growing number of counterfeit products may disrupt the export of their "Buldak" product line and degrade the value of the brand.
