Report: Hedge fund AlphaQuest closes after three consecutive years of losses, returning funds to investors.
AlphaQuest, a quantitative hedge fund established for about 25 years, has decided to close after three consecutive years of losses. The fund, with approximately $2 billion under management under Nigol Koulajian, will be returning all funds to investors following its worst period of continuous losses. According to a source familiar with the situation, the fund fell 15.2% last year and has dropped by about 30% since its decline began in October 2022. The new year has also seen continued losses, with the fund falling over 4% in February alone and a cumulative decline of 3.1% since the beginning of the year.
