Shandong Maritime Authority reported that a Singaporean bulk carrier caught on fire: 2 foreign crew members have no signs of life.

"Shandong Maritime Affairs" news, according to the Shandong Provincial Maritime Search and Rescue Center, at around 19:40 on February 17, 2026, the Weihai Maritime Search and Rescue Center received a report: the Singapore-registered cargo ship "MANDY" caught fire in the engine room at approximately 3645N, 12305E, resulting in 2 foreign crew members missing and 1 foreign crew member injured. The Shandong Province and Weihai City Maritime Search and Rescue Center organized professional rescue vessels, professional rescue helicopters, and surrounding commercial ships to assist fully. The fire has been extinguished, the injured crew member has been timely sent for medical treatment, and the 2 missing crew members were found in the engine room with no signs of life. Currently, follow-up disposal work is proceeding in an orderly manner, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
