Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade, and Industry Akira Amari stated that companies such as Hitachi and SoftBank Group are interested in participating in investment projects in the United States. He mentioned that Japan has decided to participate in three American investment projects, including a $600 million artificial diamond project, a $33.3 billion gas power project, and a $21 billion crude oil infrastructure project. Toshiba, Hitachi, and SoftBank are interested in the gas project; Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, JFE, Nippon Steel, and Mitsui Ocean Development are considering participation in the oil project; Asahi Diamond Industrial and Sandoz Co. are designated as the underwriters for the artificial diamond project.
