SpaceX will participate in the Pentagon's autonomous drone technology competition.

Insiders revealed that Elon Musk's SpaceX and its wholly-owned subsidiary xAI are participating in a secretive new competition at the Pentagon aimed at developing autonomous drone swarm technology controlled by voice. Musk announced in early February that the two companies would be merged into the new frontier of AI-powered weapon development, signaling a new direction for Musk which could be controversial. Although SpaceX is already a mature defense contractor and Musk is passionate about advancing AI, he has also been one of the people who opposed the manufacturing of "new killer tools." Insiders revealed that in the competition launched in January with a prize of $1 billion, only a few companies were selected to participate, and Musk's companies are among them. This six-month competition aims to develop advanced swarm technology that can convert voice commands into digital commands and control multiple drones.
