France expands investigation into baby formula milk, Nestle and Danone among companies included in the list.
The prosecutor's office in Paris, the capital of France, has launched an investigation into Nestl, Danone, Lactalis, and two other companies for distributing potentially contaminated infant formula. This investigation may involve charges of "deception with products harmful to human health," which could result in a maximum sentence of seven years in prison and a fine of 3.75 million euros. The investigation, led by the public health department of the prosecutor's office, aims to determine whether the companies are responsible for endangering lives by violating safety regulations, failing to recall contaminated products, and other illegal actions.
