Hong Kong Immigration Department: Last year, a record high of 335 million people entered and exited Hong Kong
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Immigration Department stated today that last year, Hong Kong had a total of 335 million entries and exits, an increase of approximately 12% from the previous year, setting a new record. The Director of the Immigration Department, Erick Tsang Kwok-wai, stated that the total number of visitors to Hong Kong last year was approximately 50 million, an increase of about 12% from the previous year. Among them, visitors from mainland China accounted for approximately 38 million, an increase of about 11%; while visitors from other countries totaled approximately 12 million, an increase of about 15%. Of all the visitors to Hong Kong throughout the year, around 11 million arrived by air, around 37 million passed through land control points, and approximately 1.8 million arrived by sea.
