The State Council Information Office held a press conference today to introduce the "Spatial Coordination Plan for the Modern Capital Metropolitan Area" and proposed multiple measures to support the construction of the modern capital metropolitan area. In order to fully promote the implementation of the plan, the National Development and Reform Commission will strengthen support for the implementation of the plan for the modern capital metropolitan area in the process of advancing the coordinated development strategy of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The Ministry of Natural Resources will timely address the problem of mismatched spatial allocation in some local areas, and support the exploration of establishing a cross-regional construction land coordination mechanism among the three regions. Beijing will seize the opportunity to expand the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center, strengthen collaborative innovation and industrial cooperation with Tianjin and Hebei. Tianjin will accelerate the construction of the Northern International Shipping Core Area, and create a convenient seaport for the capital and Xiong'an New Area. Hebei Province will construct the Xiong'an New Area with high standards and high quality; jointly build world-class airport clusters and port clusters with Beijing and Tianjin, and create an economic corridor connecting Beijing and Tianjin from different directions.
