The Australian Securities Exchange announced that its embattled CEO, Helen Lofthouse, will step down in May without a successor appointed. The exchange is currently facing multiple challenges, including regulatory investigations, and its stock price fell after the news was made public. Following the announcement of her resignation in a statement released after trading hours on Tuesday, ASX shares dropped 6.3% on Wednesday, marking the biggest decline since December 15th last year. ASX stated that they are currently searching globally for the next CEO, with internal candidates also being considered.
