Amazon disclosed that it holds a 5.3% stake in Beta Technologies, an electric aviation company that went public last year. According to a filing submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday, Amazon's subsidiary Amazon.com NV Investment Holdings holds approximately 11.8 million shares of Beta. Amazon initially announced its investment in Beta in 2021 as part of its focus on the climate sector. Based in Vermont, Beta designs, manufactures, and sells electric aircraft, electric propulsion systems, components, and charging systems. Beta's stock rose 19% in after-hours trading to $19.94. As of the close, the stock has declined by 51% in the past three months.
