According to informed sources, the Blackstone Group is increasing its investment in the artificial intelligence startup company Anthropic. Based on the current valuation, its stake will increase to approximately $1 billion. The sources said that as part of Anthropic's ongoing funding round, the world's largest alternative asset management company is injecting $200 million at a valuation of $35 billion. This investment by the Blackstone Group comes less than a year after its last participation in Anthropic's funding. The Blackstone Group is also a supporter of OpenAI, and this investment makes it one of the largest non-venture capital or non-sovereign fund investors in Anthropic. OpenAI is also in negotiations for another record-breaking $100 billion funding round, and both companies are taking steps to prepare for their initial public offerings.
