YouTube launches AI playlist creation feature for premium members

YouTube is launching a new AI-powered playlist creation feature, allowing advanced members on iOS and Android to create personalized playlists through text commands. Users simply need to go to the "Library" tab in the app, tap on the "New" button, and select the "AI playlist" option to start using it. They can then use text or voice input to generate playlists with any command, such as "energetic death metal," "melancholic post-rock," "upbeat house remixes for a casual party," "indie pop," or "classic hits from the 90s." YouTube has been testing AI playlist generation technology for some time now. In July 2024, the company tested a new feature in the U.S. that allowed users to create personalized radio stations through commands.
