Shanghai has opened over 5200 kilometers of self-driving test roads and will expand the opening range as needed.
The Shanghai Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing and Demonstration Promotion Working Group recently compiled and released the "Shanghai Intelligent Connected Vehicle Development Report." The report shows that by 2025, Shanghai will continue to expand the application space for intelligent connected vehicle testing and steadily promote scenario openness. As of the end of last year, the city had opened a total of 3,173 automated driving test roads totaling 5,238.82 kilometers. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, Shanghai will move towards a new stage of development of "full-city integration." Constructing a development paradigm where regulations, standards, and open roads interact and promote each other, promoting cross-regional linkage, constructing a testing and demonstration circle layer in the central urban area, and forming a multi-level scenario layout of "a city-wide strategy." Through large-scale, multi-level real scene opening, the scope of automated driving openness will be expanded as needed.
