Unit 3 of Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant has successfully completed the cold testing.
Today, it was learned from CNNC Group that the cold testing of Unit 3 of Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed. Cold testing is a comprehensive "check-up" of the pressure boundary of the reactor coolant system's primary loop, and it is a key turning point in the commissioning process of nuclear power plants, laying a solid foundation for subsequent hot testing, fuel loading, and startup. Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant uses the third-generation AP1000 reactor type, with a planned construction of 6 million kilowatt nuclear power units. After the completion and commissioning of Units 3 and 4 in the second phase, Sanmen Nuclear Power Plant's annual electricity generation will exceed 40 billion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 30 million tons per year.
