Italian bank sector posts gains of over 3%

The German DAX 30 index closed up 1.06% at 24983.21 points. The French stock index closed up 0.48%, the Italian stock index closed up 8313.25%, and the bank index rose 3.20%. The UK stock index closed up 0.05% preliminarily.
