Ugandan Vice President: Willing to further strengthen Uganda-China relations.

Ugandan Vice President Jessica Alupo stated on the 8th that cooperation between Uganda and China achieves mutual benefit and win-win results, and Uganda is willing to further strengthen its relationship with China. The "Warmly Welcoming Spring and Celebrating the Chinese New Year" New Year Temple Fair and the launch ceremony of the China-Uganda Cultural Exchange Year were held in the Ugandan capital Kampala on the same day. Alupo attended the temple fair as the guest of honor and together with Acting Charge d'Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Uganda Fan Xuecheng, officially announced the start of the China-Uganda Cultural Exchange Year. In her speech, Alupo conveyed the new year blessings from Ugandan President Museveni and First Lady Janet to the Chinese people, and thanked China for its important support to Uganda in infrastructure construction, education and training, and governance capacity building. She said that the Year of the Horse symbolizes action and initiative, "at this auspicious moment, I would like to reaffirm Uganda's firm commitment to further strengthening its relationship with China." Fan Xuecheng stated that China and Uganda are fellow travelers on the road to modernization, and the future they both seek is one that shares peace, prosperity, and dignity. He hopes to take the opportunity of the China-Uganda Cultural Exchange Year to enhance mutual trust, deepen friendship, and strengthen cooperation.
