Russian Foreign Minister: Russia sees no "bright prospects" in economic relations with the United States.
On February 9th, local time, it was learned from the General Administration that Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that what is important for Russia is the United States' position on the Ukraine issue, rather than the statements made by Ukraine or the European Union. He pointed out that Russia and the United States should have moved towards broad cooperation after the Anchorage meeting, but the reality is quite the opposite. The United States is not willing to implement its proposals on the Ukraine issue made at the Anchorage meeting. Lavrov also stated that Russia had accepted the United States' proposal on the Ukraine issue. Lavrov said that the sanctions imposed by the United States on Russian oil companies are an unfair means of suppressing competitors, and the United States is trying to control Russia's military technology links with countries like India. He said that Russia sees no "bright prospects" for its economic relationship with the United States, as the U.S. government not only did not question the laws passed by former President Biden to "punish" Russia, but also implemented new sanctions. Lavrov stated that Russia remains open to cooperation with the United States, but the U.S. is setting obstacles. Lavrov said that Russia will never allow any weapons that threaten Russia's security interests to be deployed in Ukraine.
