Daye Textile plans to raise the price of T-type glass fiber within the year. Increased production needs to wait until the end of the year.
The breakout of demand for AI chips has led to a tightening supply of T-type glass fiber cloth. Its main supplier, Nitto Textile, plans to steadily increase production capacity starting from the end of this year, with the goal of tripling capacity by 2028 compared to 2025. Nitto Textile has stated that even with the new production lines in operation, it will still be difficult to bridge the gap between supply and rapidly growing demand, and plans to raise prices this year. Citigroup analysts predict that the price increase could reach 25% or even higher. This round of price increases is likely to be passed down to downstream, pushing up the final prices of smartphones and laptops.
