According to Israeli media reports, the Israeli cabinet approved a series of important measures related to land planning and administrative authority in the Palestinian West Bank on February 8, including the cancellation of a law prohibiting Jews from purchasing land in the West Bank, granting Israeli authorities more enforcement powers over Palestinians, and so on. The report pointed out that these measures will further strengthen Israeli control over the West Bank. Palestinian President Abbas stated that these new measures are dangerous, illegal, and essentially tantamount to de facto annexation. Most areas in the West Bank are under Israeli military control, with limited autonomy exercised by the Palestinian Authority in some areas. The internationally supported "two-state solution" advocates for the establishment of a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
