The latest data provided by Cui Dongshu, Secretary-General of the China Passenger Car Association, shows that in January 2026, the average price of new cars in the overall passenger car market was 248,000 yuan, and the average price reduction reached 37,000 yuan. By segment, the average price of new energy vehicles decreased to 253,000 yuan, with an average reduction of 38,000 yuan, a decrease of 14.8%; the average price of conventional fuel vehicles decreased to 238,000 yuan, with an average reduction of 36,000 yuan, a decrease of 15%. In terms of the magnitude of the price reduction, the overall price reduction of new car models in the domestic passenger car market that month reached 14.9%, an increase of 2.5 percentage points from the previous month, and an increase of 0.4 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
