Meituan upgrades rider major illness hospitalization insurance.

Meituan officially announced that it will upgrade the "Rider Serious Illness Care Program" starting from February 10th. The platform will provide free additional hospitalization medical insurance for over a million stable delivery riders and their family members nationwide. "The 'Rider Serious Illness Care Program' has supported 7570 riders and their families, with a total care fund exceeding 2.1 billion yuan, with the highest single payment being 200,000 yuan," said the person in charge of Meituan rider protection. After this upgrade, riders and their families in Meituan's directly operated cities who suffer from any of the 101 critical illnesses and 51 minor illnesses covered by the plan will be reimbursed for hospitalization medical expenses exceeding 5000 yuan. This is also the industry's first coverage for all types of riders and their core family members in terms of hospitalization medical insurance. "In the future, we will continue to expand and launch more protection plans for various scenarios and more specific needs."
