Energy facilities have been attacked. Ukraine has requested emergency electricity assistance from Poland.
On the 7th local time, Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Shmyhal stated that Russia launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure that day, targeting substations that are core facilities of the national grid, as well as 750 kV and 330 kV high-voltage transmission lines, and two thermal power plants. Shmyhal said that currently the nuclear power plant units have been put on reduced load operation by staff. Ukraine's national power company has requested emergency power assistance from Poland. Russia has not responded to this issue so far.
