According to the official WeChat account of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of the Congo, in order to further enhance the safety awareness of Chinese-funded enterprises and compatriots in the Congo and effectively ensure the personal safety of Chinese citizens in the Congo, the Embassy of the Republic of the Congo held a special video conference on the safety of the manual mining industry on February 5. More than 30 representatives from various overseas Chinese associations, chambers of commerce leaders, and enterprise representatives attended the meeting. At the request of Ambassador Zhao Bin, Counselor Luo Gang briefed the participants on the current safety situation in the manual mining industry in the Congo and the potential risks faced by Chinese-funded enterprises and employees, seriously reminding Chinese-funded enterprises and Chinese citizens in the Congo to strictly abide by local laws, not to participate in illegal mining activities, strengthen unity and mutual assistance, and avoid vicious competition. At the same time, companies, chambers of commerce, and individuals in the Congo were requested to closely monitor the security situation and improve their ability to prevent security risks. The participants thanked the embassy for the briefing and made a commitment to strictly abide by the law, operate compliance, and not participate in illegal mining activities.
