According to a report from the Financial Times on the 6th, the US Department of State will provide funding to think tanks and charities in Europe that align with the "Make America Great Again" camp to spread the policy views of the Trump administration, challenging European policies seen as threatening "freedom of speech" by the US. Insiders say that this US funding may focus on relevant institutions in the UK, France, Germany, and Belgium. According to reports, Sara Rogers, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy, will lead this effort. Rogers visited Europe in December 2025, meeting with influential right-wing think tank leaders and key figures from the UK right-wing populist party, the Reform Party.
