Allocate 720 million yuan of central financial support funds, Henan promotes the implementation of subsidy policies for disabled elderly people.
On February 6th, the Henan Provincial Government Information Office held the fifth news conference of the province's "Practical Measures to Benefit the People and Warm the Central Plains" series. Reporters at the press conference learned that since December of last year, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, together with the Provincial Department of Finance, has allocated 720 million yuan in central financial support funds. They have also expedited the entry of assessment agencies and elderly care service institutions into the project database for those who have applied and meet the criteria, in order to promote the implementation of the subsidy project for elderly people with moderate to severe disabilities.
According to the notice issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs and the Ministry of Finance in December of last year regarding the comprehensive implementation of the subsidy project for elderly people with moderate to severe disabilities, it was decided that starting from January 1, 2026, the subsidy project for elderly people with moderate to severe disabilities will be implemented nationwide.
Dong Hui, Director of the Elderly Care Services Department of the Henan Provincial Department of Civil Affairs, introduced at the press conference that as of February 5th, a total of 1904 various service institutions have been included in the database across the province, including 314 assessment agencies, 1423 elderly care institutions, and 167 community elderly care service institutions. There are 41,000 registered elderly people, 33,000 consumption vouchers have been collected, and 26,000 have been consumed and verified.
