Eight departments: Use new generation information technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data to construct knowledge graphs and graph neural networks of classic famous prescriptions, famous old Chinese medical experiences, and other characteristic prescriptions.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and seven other departments have issued the "Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry". The plan proposes to empower the research and development of new traditional Chinese medicine. By using artificial intelligence, big data and other new generation information technologies, the plan aims to build a knowledge graph and graph neural network of classic famous prescriptions, experienced prescriptions of famous old Chinese medicine doctors, and other characteristic prescriptions. It also calls for strengthening basic research in traditional Chinese medicine, vigorously developing scientific regulation of traditional Chinese medicine, enhancing technical support for pharmacological research of traditional Chinese medicine, building a platform for multi-omics joint analysis, improving the technical system for internal and external evaluation, and increasing research accuracy and timeliness. The plan also emphasizes the key technology breakthroughs in traditional Chinese medicine new drug development, leveraging the role of national manufacturing innovation centers, industrial technology basic public service platforms, manufacturing pilot platforms, and other public service platforms to accelerate the breakthrough of technical bottlenecks such as the identification of traditional Chinese medicine efficacy components, optimization of prescription formulation, evaluation of drug efficacy, and design of dosage forms and processes based on clinical syndromes and drug efficacy. It encourages innovation and improvement of existing traditional Chinese medicines on the market to enhance efficacy, research and utilization of traditional non-medicinal parts of traditional Chinese medicine materials to enhance the comprehensive utilization level of traditional Chinese medicine resources, and supports clinical institutions in conducting clinical trials of new traditional Chinese medicines, building an open collaboration system for the research and development of new traditional Chinese medicines, accelerating drug discovery and innovation, shortening development cycles, and lowering development costs.
