The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and eight other departments have issued the "Implementation Plan for High-Quality Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry".

Proposal: By 2030, a coordinated development system for the entire industrial chain of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) will be established, with a focus on further enhancing the continuous and stable supply of key TCM raw materials. The level of smart and green technologies will significantly increase, with breakthroughs in key technologies and a noticeable improvement in industrial collaborative innovation. The quality of development will significantly improve, with the scale and benefits of the TCM industry steadily increasing. The level of industrial intensification and quality management will significantly improve, fostering a number of leading TCM enterprises and cultivating 60 high-standard TCM raw material production bases. The coordinated system will become more robust, with closer cooperation between TCM planting and processing, research and production, and distribution services. Five TCM industrial innovation centers will be established to uphold tradition and innovation. Innovative products will continue to emerge, with several new TCM innovative drugs approved for market. Ten major varieties of TCM formulations will be newly cultivated, and efforts will be made to transform TCM formulations in medical institutions into innovative TCM drugs.
