Regional bank stocks in the United States rose to a record high for the first time since 2022.

The US regional bank stock index rose on Wednesday, hitting a new intraday record high. The KBW Regional Banking Index surged by 2.2% at one point, marking its first intraday record high since January 2022. Large bank stocks also rose, with the KBW Bank Index reaching a high of 1.5%. Wintrust Financial Corp., WSFS Financial Corp., and Pinnacle Financial Partners were among the top performers in the regional bank index.
