Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held a symposium to discuss the construction of living and "good housing" for young people.

According to China Construction News, on February 3rd, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League held a symposium at the "Good House" Science and Technology Exhibition Hall in Beijing's Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center. Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development Ni Hong stated that it is necessary to guarantee the basic housing needs of young people, using methods such as "one bed, one room, one set of houses" to ensure that young people can come in, stay, live safely, and succeed. On one hand, efforts will be made to allocate rental housing, vigorously develop affordable rental housing and public rental housing, providing both physical security and monetary subsidies; these can be built through government funding or by encouraging eligible enterprises and areas to build dormitories. On the other hand, efforts will be made to allocate sales, for young people with certain economic capacity, to develop sales-type affordable housing based on demand and purchase, while also meeting the needs of families with multiple children by supporting local efforts to moderately increase the area of affordable housing.
