Today, the Central Document No. 1 for 2026 was released, deploying strategies for anchoring the modernization of agriculture and rural areas, and solidly promoting the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. In 2025, China's grain production overcame local droughts, floods, continuous rainy weather, and other unfavorable weather conditions, reaching a production of 142.98 billion kilograms, with an increase of 1.68 billion kilograms, hitting a historical high once again. This year, we must not slack off in ensuring grain production, focusing on enhancing the comprehensive production capacity and quality efficiency of agriculture, and ensuring stable and secure supply of important agricultural products at a higher level. In terms of promoting stable income growth for farmers, experts believe that we should vigorously develop industries that enrich rural residents, focus on promoting "local specialties", improve and strengthen the agro-processing industry, actively develop rural characteristic industries, and improve the mechanism for fair sharing of industrial development benefits so that farmers can share more of the value-added benefits. Experts also state that building livable and prosperous rural areas is an important task in the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas. We should tailor the mechanisms for rural construction according to local conditions, continue to promote rural construction actions, and deepen the improvement and enhancement of rural living environments.
