UK Maritime Trade Operations Office: A suspicious activity incident occurred in the Strait of Hormuz.
On February 3rd local time, the UK Maritime Trade Operations office issued a notice stating that they had received reports of a suspicious maritime activity incident about 16 nautical miles north of Oman in the safe area of the shipping lane in the entrance direction of the Strait of Hormuz. The report stated that a vessel was approached by multiple small boats carrying weapons and was instructed to stop via very high frequency radio calls, but the vessel did not comply and continued on its intended course. Authorities are currently investigating the incident. The UK reminds passing vessels to stay vigilant, proceed with caution, and report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities in a timely manner. (CCTV News)
