A survey released by the Danish Broadcasting Corporation on the 3rd showed that as many as 60% of Danish respondents consider the United States as a competitor, with only 17% considering the United States as an ally. President Trump stated on January 21 that he would not use force to take Greenland. The survey was conducted from January 21 to 28, and it showed that a majority of respondents in different regions, genders, ages, or political positions regard the United States as a competitor. Trump has repeatedly expressed his desire to acquire Greenland since returning to the White House, even at one point suggesting that "military seizure" is not ruled out. Europe has strongly reacted to this, stating that the sovereignty of Greenland is not negotiable.
