Reporters learned from the Ministry of Commerce that the effects of the policy of trading in old appliances for new ones and subsidies for purchasing new digital and smart products are gradually becoming apparent. In January of this year, sales of six categories of household appliances and four categories of digital and smart products exceeded 15 million units, with sales reaching nearly 59 billion yuan. Currently, 32 regions have all implemented subsidies for household appliances and digital and smart products. Nineteen regions have issued detailed implementation rules. In January, 6.813 million old appliances were traded in for new ones, driving sales of 29.71 billion yuan; 9.115 million new digital and smart products were purchased, driving sales of 29.21 billion yuan.
