According to Reuters, a senior executive of Boeing Company stated on February 3 that Boeing will no longer be building F-15 fighter jets for Indonesia. Reuters reported that this means the "important deal" has come to an end. Reuters reported that Bernd Peters, Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for Boeing Defense, told reporters during the 2026 Singapore Airshow, "Our cooperation with Indonesia is no longer a project that we are actively promoting." Peters refused to disclose further details and said that related issues should be consulted with the US government and the Indonesian government. As of now, there has been no response from Indonesia on this matter. Reuters explained that the Indonesian Ministry of Defense signed an agreement with Boeing in 2023 to purchase 24 F-15EX fighter jets, but the agreement still needs approval from the US government. It is understood that a senior executive of Boeing in Indonesia had also mentioned in June 2024 that Boeing would soon be completing the construction of the 24 F-15EX fighter jets purchased by Indonesia.
