During an inspection in Jiangsu, the Ministry of Transport inspection guidance group found that a hazardous goods transportation company was transporting goods beyond the permitted quantities.

From January 19th to 23rd, the inspection guidance group of the Ministry of Transport went to Nanjing, Wuxi, Suzhou, Xuzhou, Lianyungang and other places in Jiangsu province to carry out guidance work on the investigation and rectification of major risks in transportation safety production during the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush. During the inspection in Donghai County, Lianyungang, the inspection guidance group found that the hazardous goods transport vehicle with license plate number SuGP3558 belonging to Xiangyu Chemical Hazardous Goods Transport Co., Ltd., transported benzene on September 28, 2025 from Jingdezhen, Jiangxi to Xinbei District, Changzhou, Jiangsu. An investigation revealed that the regular inspection report of the tank indicated that it was suitable for transporting diesel and gasoline, not benzene. In response to this issue, the inspection guidance group urged relevant responsible units to conduct a comprehensive investigation of all operating tank vehicles of the company to ensure compliance with the suitable medium, and demanded that the local transportation authorities supervise the company to rectify within a specified time frame. At the same time, a thorough investigation and rectification of major risks in hazardous goods transportation companies in the area will be conducted, and the transportation of tanks exceeding their medium capacity will be strictly prohibited.
