Gree Electric Appliances stated on the evening of February 2nd on an interactive platform that copper is the core raw material of air conditioners, accounting for about 20% of the cost of air conditioners. Although under the same circumstances, the cost of aluminum is about 1/12 of copper, there is a significant gap between aluminum and copper in terms of melting point, thermal conductivity coefficient, electrical resistivity, corrosion resistance, as well as long-term reliability. Without fully guaranteeing its performance, quality, and reliability, the company currently has no plans to replace copper with aluminum. The company values the research on aluminum replacing copper technology and continues to monitor industry trends.
