Chen Jinin, the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, met with the President of the World Skills Organization, Francis Wapner, and CEO David Hoy, who came to Shanghai to attend the preparation week meeting and related activities for the 48th World Skills Competition. Chen Jinin thanked the World Skills Organization for their support and guidance in organizing the 48th World Skills Competition in Shanghai. He said that this year marks the beginning of China's "Fifteenth Five-Year Plan", and hosting the 48th World Skills Competition in Shanghai is of great significance. Following the important instructions of President Xi Jinping, we are fully committed to advancing the preparations for the competition and striving to make it a new and widely influential event. Taking advantage of hosting the competition, we will focus on "investing in people" and give greater emphasis to training skilled talents, better adapting to technological and employment structure changes, strengthening the development and utilization of human resources, putting more effort into discipline setting, vocational training, and skill improvement to help more young people fully experience the charm of skills and embark on the path to skill mastery, providing solid human resources guarantee for high-quality development. We hope to strengthen communication and coordination with the World Skills Organization, make better use of platforms like the competition, deepen international exchanges and cooperation in skills, and jointly create a new future for the development of skills.
