This year, Beijing's central urban area will excavate and increase 20,000 new motor vehicle parking spots.

The "Comprehensive Traffic Management Action Plan of Beijing Municipality in 2026" has been released. According to the action plan, 20,000 new motor vehicle parking spaces will be created in the central urban area of the city this year, and 10,000 new paid cross-time shared parking spaces will be added. At the same time, the plan includes exploring limited-time night parking around residential areas, increasing parking resources through the use of markings and signs. Enforcement of parking violations will be strengthened in key areas such as strict management streets in the core area, "no parking alleys", and around parking lots. The implementation of the "alternate traffic passage" traffic management measures will be promoted, with the optimization and transformation of no fewer than 20 "alternate traffic passage" points.
