Beijing: Maternity allowance will be directly distributed to female workers with insurance.

Starting from January 31st, Beijing enterprises will directly issue maternity allowances to female employees who are insured and give birth or undergo planned sterilization or induced abortion, if they meet the eligibility criteria for claiming maternity allowances. Previously, maternity allowances for insured female employees in Beijing were usually first deposited into the employer's account and then transferred to the female employees. This time, maternity allowances for female employees insured by the enterprise will be directly issued to the individuals themselves, and this adjustment does not apply to government agencies, institutions, or individuals receiving unemployment benefits. Female employees who have paid maternity insurance premiums continuously for 9 months before delivery will have their maternity allowances paid by the maternity insurance; those who have paid premiums continuously for less than 9 months before delivery will have their maternity allowances paid by the employer; and those who have paid premiums continuously for less than 9 months before delivery but have paid continuously for 12 months after delivery will receive supplementary maternity allowances from the maternity insurance.
