The China Meteorological Administration and the National Energy Administration jointly formulated guidance to promote the construction of the energy meteorological service system.
The "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Construction of Energy Meteorological Service System" jointly formulated by the China Meteorological Administration and the National Energy Administration was recently issued, aiming to improve the prediction accuracy and stability of new energy power generation. The guiding opinions propose that by 2027, a comprehensive energy meteorological service system covering energy planning site selection and supply guarantee, resource monitoring and forecasting, disaster prevention and reduction, and other scenarios will be basically established. By 2030, key meteorological services such as water, wind, solar, storage, and other technologies will reach international advanced levels, providing high-quality and effective meteorological services to achieve the goal of peaking carbon emissions. In addition, the application of new technologies such as virtual wind towers will also provide more precise meteorological data support for new energy power generation.
