Space Exploration Technologies Corp (SpaceX) has revised its Starlink privacy policy, allowing customer data to be used for artificial intelligence training, a move that could enhance Elon Musk's AI ambitions. Before the planned large IPO later this year, SpaceX is in talks to merge with Musk's AI company xAI, with the media first reporting the deal on Thursday. SpaceX is already the world's most valuable private company, with a post-IPO valuation possibly exceeding $1 trillion. Starlink updated its global privacy policy on January 15. The policy includes some new details, stipulating that unless users opt out, Starlink data may be used for "training our machine learning or artificial intelligence models" and may be shared with the company's service providers and "third-party collaborators," but without providing more details. The previous version of the privacy policy did not include any wording about using Starlink data for AI training.
