Investigation: This year, international oil prices may remain near the $60 per barrel mark.
A Reuters survey shows that with market expectations of oversupply offsetting the potential impact of geopolitical tensions that may cause disruptions in freight, international oil prices may remain near the $60 per barrel mark this year. The survey, conducted in January and covering 31 economists and analysts, predicts that the average price of Brent crude oil in 2026 will reach $62.02 per barrel, a slight increase from last December's forecast of $61.27. On January 30th, the trading price of Brent crude oil was around $70 per barrel, with the average price of this oil in 2025 being approximately $68.20 per barrel. The average price of US crude oil in 2026 is expected to be $58.72 per barrel, slightly higher than last December's forecast of $58.15, while the average price of US crude oil in 2025 was $64.73 per barrel.
