The latest survey results from the Game Developers Conference show that 52% of respondents believe that generative artificial intelligence is having a "negative" impact on the gaming industry, while only 7% believe it has a "positive" impact. Most shocking is that the negative perception of this technology in the industry has increased significantly year by year: in 2024, only 18% of respondents held a negative attitude towards it, this proportion increased to 30% in 2025, and now it is more than half. This survey targeted 2300 "game industry professionals", with the majority of respondents being male, white, and American practitioners. The organizers of the survey admitted that this respondent composition "does not truly represent the global game industry community, and we still need to do more related work".
