At the news conference held by the Ministry of Transport today, it was revealed that the 2026 service area quality improvement action has been initiated. This year, the Ministry of Transport will add more than 10,000 charging stations in service areas, with over a quarter of them being high-power charging stations, making it more convenient for new energy vehicles to charge. In addition, the service area restrooms will be renovated to increase the proportion of seated toilets, making the restroom environment more comfortable. 600 standardized "driver's homes" will be built or renovated to provide a peaceful resting place for truck drivers. At the same time, in accordance with local characteristics, 60 "open service areas" that can connect with the surrounding area will be added as needed, and the provision and updating of fire-fighting facilities in service areas will be comprehensively strengthened to ensure travel safety.
