Speed exceeding 100G! China's space-to-ground laser communication commercial application capability has reached a new level.

Journalists learned on the 30th from the Aerospace Information Innovation Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the experimental commercial application of ultra-high-speed space-to-ground laser communication has recently been successfully carried out, with a communication rate reaching 120 gigabits per second. The experimental results show that the communication link is stable, and the quality of downlink data is excellent. This is another breakthrough achieved by the project team after reaching 10 Gbps in 2023 and 60 Gbps in 2025, marking a new milestone in the commercial application capability of space-to-ground laser communication in China.
