National Development and Reform Commission: During the Spring Festival travel rush, we will strengthen the guarantee of energy and power supply for key facilities and key periods.

On January 29, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the situation and work arrangements for the 2026 Spring Festival travel rush. Li Chunlin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, stated that in response to the continuous full-load operation of transportation during the peak of the Spring Festival travel rush, the NDRC will strengthen the comprehensive coordination of coal, electricity, oil, and gas with relevant parties, and enhance the energy and power supply guarantee for key facilities and key periods. In terms of key facilities, efforts will be made to ensure electricity and fuel supply along railways and highways, strengthen the comprehensive energy guarantee capacity of important hub stations, and enhance the inspection of important power facilities and power lines. In terms of key periods, preparations will be made for low temperature, rain, snow, and ice weather conditions, and immediate emergency response and repair of power failures will be organized to ensure reliable power supply for transportation. At the same time, in response to the rapid growth in demand for charging of new energy vehicles, the NDRC will coordinate with relevant parties to promote the construction and development of charging infrastructure.
